We love our friends 02/16/2012
Dear Busy Bee Families, What a friendly week we have had! Our question of the week was: How can you be a good friend? The children had amazing responses, such as "taking turns," "saying no thank you instead of yelling" and "giving hugs." We had a great Valentine’s Day with our yummy Red Lunch. Afterward the children were able to match their friends’ names with their valentine cards. We also enjoyed using heart cookie cutters with play-doh. Many of the children were making “cookies” to give to their friends. On Wednesday, we created a friendship quilt that we decorated with shapes and compliments. It is wonderful to witness the love they have for each other. Thursday, we were delighted to welcome back Ms. Andrea and we enjoyed the day making a friendship tree with our painted handprints. Since we had a few sick friends last week, we talked a lot about germs. We discussed how to stay healthy by washing our hands and covering our sneezes. Pastor Amy helped us continue the theme of love during our chapel time. She taught us that we can wear invisible clothing of kindness, just as Paul wrote in one of his letters. We "tried on" these invisible socks, shirts, and pants of kindness and sang a new song about love. In music we sang about love and friendship. Mrs. S even wrote our own song about our friends to the tune of "Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star:" We love our friends, they are so neat When they come over, it’s such a treat! Next week, we will be covering a new unit on dental health. We can’t wait to talk to your little ones about keeping their beautiful smiles nice and clean. As always, if you have any questions please let us know. Thank you for sharing your precious child with us! Have a restful weekend, Ms. Andrea & Ms. Melissa CommentsLeave a Reply | AuthorsMs. Andrea and Ms. Melissa are the teachers in the Busy Bees classroom, our 3-year-olds ArchivesMay 2012 Categories |
